Full Polyester

This setup will give you the spin potential you've only dreamed of. Full bed polyester strings, due to the strings nature, is a stiff, slick textured (depending on the string), spin friendly low power string best suited for lower tension setups. Because of polyesters and co-polyesters lower power quality and high spin potential, these strings typically do not follow the 'high tension=more control, less power/low tension=more power less control' rule of thumb. Dropping the tension 10-15% lower than your typical tension gives the string more power while also increasing spin for more control.

2

Full Synthetic Gut

Here, this is your middle of the road, mid power, spin and control string setup. This is typically used for a comfortable cheap restring if you are not too concerned about quality. Synthetic gut will hold its tension better than polyester and multifilament but due to its cheap price point, it does not have the qualities of a polyester and multifilament string.

3

Full Multifilament

A full bed of multifilament will be a powerful, comfortable, spin lacking (in most cases) string setup. Multifilaments have great ball pocketing which does help with spin but it will not be as spin friendly as polyester. Multifilament does fray as the string is made up of 100s of tiny fibers that break over time. Fraying will not reduce playability too much but it does create tension loss.

4

Hybrid

This setup will be the best of both worlds in most cases. Hybrids are typically done with a polyester or co-poly string in the mains or crosses and a softer string like a multifilament or synthetic gut in the other half. This setup depending on how to set it up, will create a spin friendly, comfortable mid power level stringing that most players can benefit from. Poly or co-poly in the mains and the softer string in the crosses create more spin while maintaining mid-level power while poly -or co-poly in the crosses and the softer string in the mains creates a more comfortable stringbed with less spin and more power with good levels of control and touch.
